In addition to our overall wins, we had an incredible year with multiple record-setting investments in Missouri with the data center wins including AWS, Google, and Nebius with tens of billions of dollars in investment, hundreds of direct jobs and thousands of construction jobs. We were very involved in all of these projects as well as our overall strategy for landing the data centers in light of increasing NIMBYism and other challenges.

Celebrating Success
In FY2026, Marketing played a key role in elevating Missouri’s economic development story by coordinating and supporting 13 investment announcements through press releases, events, video and photography, and social media promotion. These efforts helped spread the word that Missouri continues to attract companies across a wide range of industries while driving new job creation and investment in communities throughout the state.
Missouri’s Food & Beverage Strengths
Marketing advanced Missouri Partnership’s food and beverage targeting by leveraging materials from the Harvest at the Lodge event and launching a personalized outreach campaign to top prospects. The team sent a three-part mailer featuring heart-shaped, Missouri-themed candy boxes, cards, and gifts to priority companies, then extended the effort by sending Valentine’s Day candy boxes to top site selection consultants. This personalized approach helped Missouri stand out from other states and made a memorable impression on key prospects and consultants.
Missouri on the World Stage
An opportunity to promote Missouri's business story during the world's biggest sporting event? Marketing made the most of it. To reach a high-value audience already experiencing Missouri's quality of life firsthand, the team showcased the state's strong business climate through advertising at Kansas City International Airport and on roadside billboards throughout the Kansas City region. The airport campaign ran throughout June and July, including KCI's busiest travel day on record, maximizing visibility during a period of exceptional passenger traffic.
Social Media Growth
Marketing reached a major social media milestone by growing Missouri Partnership’s LinkedIn presence to 10,000 followers. As the organization’s primary social media platform, LinkedIn enables Marketing to reach business leaders and site selection consultants daily with messages about Missouri’s business advantages. This growing audience expands the reach of Missouri’s story and helps ensure more decision-makers recognize the state as an excellent location for business investment.
[ OUTREACH ]Outreach
SelectUSA
Missouri Partnership continued to strengthen relationships with corporate decision-makers, site selection consultants, and industry leaders through several high-impact outreach events. SelectUSA was one of our most significant business development efforts, providing valuable opportunities to connect with companies exploring expansion and investment opportunities in Missouri.
FIFA World Cup
The FIFA World Cup also created a unique opportunity to showcase Missouri. On June 20, we hosted 25 guests in the Governor's Suite in Kansas City, strengthening relationships with key consultants, business leaders, and economic development partners.
Harvest at the Lodge
Another standout success was Harvest at the Lodge at Big Cedar Lodge, where we hosted site selection consultants for two days of networking, hospitality, and engagement with Missouri agriculture and transportation experts, as well as Missouri Department of Economic Development Director Michelle Hataway. The relationships strengthened during this event ultimately helped contribute to Missouri winning a project.
Working in Partnership
None of these accomplishments would have been possible without the support of our outstanding partners and the strong relationships we have built with organizations and communities across the state. Their collaboration continues to be critical to Missouri's economic development success.

[ CAPACITY BUILDING ]Capacity Building
Raise the Bar: Train
We held seven "Train" sessions across the state, including partners from Bootheel Progress with Partnership, Weldon Spring, Northeast Power, Monett, and three locations in Green Hills Regional Planning Commission's region. Raise the Bar: Train is a program aimed at readying communities to respond to RFIs and participate in projects led by Missouri Partnership.
Raise the Bar: Compete
In our Raise the Bar: Compete capacity building efforts, two additional sites were added as "Premier Sites" designees. "Premier Sites" are sites that have been evaluated through our partnership with Global Location Strategies to identify sites that are 200 acres or more, preferably rail served, and ideal for industrial development.
In further "Compete" activities, we have been active in discussions on how to best support designees as they work through suggestions resulting from the GLS evaluation.
Lasso RFI Response Technology
Though not technically part of our standard "Raise the Bar" efforts, one of our biggest accomplishments for partners support in FY26 was the launch of software platform Lasso. Lasso is an application that allows our community partners to submit RFI responses to us online, allows for recall of answers for future RFI responses, and automatically populates LOIS which is our primary site and building marketing tool. We onboarded this technology after surveying partners on their challenges with RFI response and a thorough evaluation of technologies available to help create efficiencies and support for the process. From January to June we made training available to partners and conducted a "practice project" to allow partners to engage with the system ahead of our official launch for project use, which occurred on July 1, 2026.
